In 2015, he founded Pitch Black, a pitch competition designed to provide a platform for black entrepreneurs to connect with startup ecosystems across the country and win cash prizes to support their business growth.

Currently serving as the Executive Director of Business for a Better Portland, Stephen works to amplify the voices of Portland businesses, enhance political access, foster connections, generate wealth, and cultivate thriving communities.
